Located in Seattle's Capitol Hill neighborhood, Broadway Crossing is the first affordable housing project in Seattle to achieve a LEED Silver rating. It was the recipient of the 2008 ABC Excellence in Construction Award for Mixed-Use Buildings and the 2007 Smart Communities Award, recognizing the project’s ability to bring together many elements of Seattle's Comprehensive Plan while meeting the needs of different users.
This 176-unit condominium building includes eight stories of concrete framings utilizing steel framing in its first-floor retail areas to accommodate the structure’s irregular geometry. Since the building’s lowest level was set near the water table, the building was designed to resist uplift pressures during large rainstorms.
