This 176-unit condominium building includes eight stories of concrete framings utilizing steel framing in its first-floor retail areas to accommodate the structure’s irregular geometry. Since the building’s lowest level was set near the water table, a structural slab on grade was used to resist the potential for uplift pressures during large rainstorms. Detailed coordination with the project geotechnical engineer was also required to remove and mitigate previously confined contaminated soils.
