Robert Frost Elementary School, Kirkland
Services: Structural and Civil
Named after the famous American poet, the new Robert Frost Elementary School was carefully phased and sited to allow the original school to stay open during construction. The steel-framed building is laid out along a curved main hallway. Each classroom cluster is built around a shared instructional space that features a vaulted ceiling with exposed roof frames. Preserving the natural beauty and forested areas of the site for use by students and teachers was a major goal accomplished by careful site configuration. |
