Lake Union Center provides a centralized technology campus in the residential neighborhood of Fremont. Master planning for this 17-acre development was extremely unique due to the proximity of the Lake Union Ship Canal to the south, the tall North 34th Street retaining wall to the north, and both the Fremont and Aurora bridges passing through the site.

Development at the site was phased over 10 years, but site access and utility service strategies for each of the seven proposed buildings at the campus were planned before the first building was ever designed. This allowed for future development of the campus with minimal disruption to current tenants. The success of these early planning efforts was evident during the eventual full campus build-out.
