Starbucks' new high-end office building at 505 1st Avenue South consists of seven stories of office and retail space with below-grade parking. The building has a sustainable focus and resides on a difficult urban site. Site challenges include constructing a four-story below grade parking garage beneath the groundwater table. Garage excavation utilizes a specialized shoring method to ensure the adjacent buildings are not adversely impacted.

Starbucks initiated a voluntary seismic upgrade of its eight-story office building on 83 King Street. Upgrades include the addition of steel braced frames throughout the historic structure in phased construction to allow the building to remain operational.
