Previously home to the old Mt. Tahoma High School, the 19-acre site was razed for the construction of this new middle school. The school's design occurs in two phases and is guided by sustainable principles. The middle school's 12 rain gardens were part of a pilot program involving the collection, treatment, and release of stormwater into the ground as an alternative to the traditional pipe and pond system.
